How to recover deleted or corrupted files in your USB?

USB drives and memory cards' usage has drastically increased, because of ease of use and portability, but with increasing number of files, the viruses have also increased, and the worst thing to happen is when your precious files got infected and deleted or are not usable anymore. And when you scan it with your anti-virus program the files are all gone. This happens to many of us, one time or the other. From now on, No more Drive Access Errors or File Not Founds..

Know How...!!!
Sometimes, the problem may be the presence of viruses on your USB.

-->Case 1: The files, even if available, aren't visible. When you open the USB, it shows no files, but if you observe the free space in USB, it seems to have files in it. To solve this issue, here are the steps below:

1. Plug your USB into a PC, which is clean from viruses and which has a good anti-virus installed in it.
2. Open command Prompt( open run and type "cmd").
3. Change the path in command prompt to your desired USB drive. For example, USB's drive is in "E:", then enter "cd E:/" and press enter.
4. Copy this line of code and paste it in the command window:

attrib -s -r -h *.* /d /s  and press enter.

And that's it!. Wait for your files to show up, large memory could be longer to process.

What happens here is: it hides your original files and make fake copies that when clicked spreads the infection, these fake copies are the ones detected by anti-virus and deleted. This trick will show all the hidden original files.

-->Case 2: You get a Drive not accessible error. To solve this issue, follow these steps:

1. Open run and enter "cmd" to open command prompt.
2. Type Chkdsk e:/r  in the command prompt. (if USB is in F:/, then type Chkdsk f:/r )
3. Continue by pressing "Y" when you get a prompt whether to continue.

As simple as it is! :) The chkdsk command checks a disk for structure corruption. The e: tells it what drive letter to use and the /r tells it to repair the issues it finds.

The issue may be, you have manually deleted files from USB.
If that is the case, prevent any other modifications to the drive from which you have deleted accidentally. Now, there are a lot of file recovery software programs such as Pandora recovery, to recover deleted, encrypted or modified files.

Hope you have enjoyed my article today...!!! And your files you thought were lost are with you now...Cheer up..!!!
